Three years ago, while on a beach vacation, founder Mike took his 3-year-old son. He had carefully prepared all the fancy "educational" light-and-sound toys from the market, hoping for an afternoon of peace and joy. But within twenty minutes, the batteries died, a plastic handle snapped, and the child became irritable from the harsh electronic noise — eventually throwing the broken pieces to the ground.
As Mike looked at the sandcastle washed away by the waves and the scattered plastic debris around him, a realization suddenly hit him:
